Dangars Creek Vineyard
Cellar Door Sales ~ Wine Tastings
Proprietors: Julie & Greg
Dangars Creek Vineyard was established in 1990 by Charlie and Margaret Vella and is located just north of Kempsey in the Macleay Valley, on the Mid North Coast of NSW Australia.

Dangars Creek Vineyard has a cellar door where you can sample the exquisite characteristics of the Chambourcin wine amongst the natural settings of the bush-surrounded vineyard.

Coming from a wine loving family originating in the Mediterranean, Charlie experimented with several grape varieties before selecting the Chambourcin wine as the variety best suited for the area.

Chambourcin
Chambourcin is a late-ripening grape that produces a highly rated red wine when the fruit fully matures. It requires a long growing season and a site less subject to low winter temperatures.

The large, moderately loose bunches set medium-sized blue berries. The vine is very productive, and cluster thinning is required. Wines from this grape are higher in tannins than other French-American hybrids.

This estate bottled wine exhibits a deep rich, full-bodied structure with abundant flavors of cherry and plum with subtle basil and thyme notes. Compliments most meat and pasta dishes.

Dangars Creek Vineyard initial wine vintage was in 1999 and has progressed from there.

Only five minutes from the centre of Kempsey NSW, The small vineyard is unique in the area in that it produces a completely local wine, made on the premises.

North Coast wine making has come of age, and Dangars Creek Vineyard is part of that history, and will definitely be a well-known vineyard in the future.

When you try Dangars Creek Vineyard's excellent Chambourcin you will be delighted to the welcoming flavors that this red wine produces.
